Huawei Is Evaluated as IMS Market Leader (2015) by IHS Infonetics
Ranking No. 1 in Market Share and Leading in Cloudification Capabilities
[Shenzhen, China, Dec.25, 2015] IHS Infonetics has ranked Huawei as the world's leading vendor of IMS equipment in its latest ratings scorecard. The 2015 IMS Equipment Vendor Scorecard evaluates top IMS vendors on market presence and market momentum. Huawei ranks number one in both respects and is evaluated as a leader in the IMS market.
In terms of market presence, the Scorecard rates each vendor on market share, financials, brand recognition, solution breadth, and other dimensions. Huawei's IMS market share holds a safe lead in the industry. Its product reliability and services are highly recognized by operators. By the end of 2015, Huawei has signed more than 230 IMS commercial contracts in over 80 countries and more than 68 VoLTE commercial contracts globally.
In terms of market momentum, the Scorecard rates each vendor on market share momentum, reputation for innovation, and development of next generation technologies, especially Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). Huawei also obtained the highest score in market momentum. According to the latest NFV market research report by IHS Infonetics in July 2015, NFV market value is predicted to grow sharply from 950 million USD in 2014 to 11.6 billion USD in 2019, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 65%. This indicates that the NFV era is coming. Standardization organizations, open-source organizations, operators, and vendors are looking forward to cooperating with each other, so as to facilitate the vigorous development of the NFV industry.
IHS Infonetics places Huawei as a leader in the IMS market, which recognizes its innovation capability and R&D capability in NFV next generation technologies. This is a well-deserved title for Huawei, as it seized precious opportunities in time to carry out technical transformation and took the lead in network architecture transformation. Analysts consider Huawei's innovation far ahead in the industry. Huawei's continuous investment in new NFV fields has enabled it to constantly strengthen its market potential in cloudification and increase its market share in cloud IMS.
In 2015, Huawei helped Vodafone put the world's first cloud VoLTE network into commercial use in Italy, and won "Best Cloud/Virtualized IMS Solution Award" at the IMS Industry Awards 2015. Based on the cloud VoLTE solution and mobile network architecture, Huawei and China Mobile won "Annual Wireless Network Innovation Project" in 2015, which was voted by readers of Telecom Asia. This fully affirms Huawei cloudification solution's leading position in technological innovation, industry contribution, and application practice.
