Security Advisory - DoS Vulnerability in Vibrator Service of Huawei Smart Phones

The vibrator service of some Huawei smart phones has DoS vulnerability due to the lack of a parameters check. An attacker can tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone, and send given parameter to smart phone vibrator service interface to crash the system. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-01067)
This vulnerability has been assigned a CVE ID: CVE-2017-2731.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:
The attacker tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone.
Vulnerability details:
An attacker can tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone, and send given parameter to smart phone vibrator service interface to crash the system.

The product that supports automatic update will receive a system update prompt. You can install the update to fix the vulnerability.
