There is a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in Huawei FusionAccess Product. Due to insufficient verification on specific input, attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending constructed messages to the affected device through other device on the same network. Successful exploit could cause affected devices abnormal. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2020-04105)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2020-1825.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

The attacker may gain access to other device on the same network as the affected device.

Vulnerability details:

Due to insufficient verification on specific input, attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending constructed messages to the affected device through other device on the same network. Successful exploit could cause affected devices abnormal.


Perform the following operations to prevent the vulnerability, users are advised to contact Huawei TAC for further guidance.

1. Ensure that the WI service access gateway is enabled.

2. Configure firewall communication rules.

Method 1: Configure network firewall rules by referring to the firewall policies of the product and allow only the management nodes to access the ports used for communication between user VMs and management nodes. 

Method 2: Configure the inbound rules of the firewall in the user VM OS to allow only the management node to access the ports used for communication between the user VM and the management node.
