There are four input validation vulnerabilities in some Huawei Smart phones. An attacker gets the graphic or Camera privilege and tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone, and send given parameter to smart phone to crash the system or escalate privilege. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2016-05147, HWPSIRT-2016-05152, HWPSIRT-2016-05153, HWPSIRT-2016-05219)
These vulnerabilities have been assigned Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2016-8791, CVE-2016-8792, CVE-2016-8793 and CVE-2016-8794.

[1] Mobile phones will receive a system update prompt. The vulnerabilities will be fixed after users install the update.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities allows attackers to crash the system or escalate user privilege.

1. Prerequisite:
The attacker successfully gets the graphic or Camera privilege.
The attacker tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone.
2. Attacking procedure:
An attacker gets the graphic privilege and tricks a user into installing a malicious application on the smart phone, and send given parameter to smart phone to crash the system or escalate privilege.
