The Bastet Driver of some Huawei smart phones has a use after free (UAF) vulnerability. An attacker can convince a user to install a malicious application which has a high privilege to exploit this vulnerability, Successful exploitation may cause arbitrary code execution. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2017-07179)

This vulnerability has been assigned a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) ID: CVE-2017-8203.

This vulnerability can be exploited only when the following conditions are present:

The attacker has successfully tricked a user into installing the malicious application which has a high privilege.

Vulnerability details:

An attacker can convince a user to install a malicious application to exploit this vulnerability. Successful exploitation may cause arbitrary code execution.

The product that supports automatic update will receive a system update prompt. You can install the update to fix the vulnerability.
