MeWidget is a plug-in of Huawei Emotion UI. The MeWidget module on Huawei smartphone P7 has a vulnerability that could lead to the disclosure of contact information. Attackers can obtain the name and URI information of mobile phone users through the malware installed on the smartphones. (Vulnerability ID: HWPSIRT-2014-0891)

Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to obtain the name and URI information of mobile phone users through the malware installed on the smartphones.

1. Prerequisite:
Attackers must trick users into installing the malware provided by the attackers.
2. Attacking procedure:
Some users of Huawei smartphones may bind their contact information to the MeWidget plug-in, which does not control the access to the contact information. As a result, third-party apps can read the contact information bound to the MeWidget.
This vulnerability was found by a security researcher from Taiwan. Huawei PSIRT is not aware of any public announcements or malicious use of the vulnerability described in this advisory.
