Brazil ranks 44th in GCI 2019.
The country has rapidly increased 4G coverage and this year achieved maximum score for mobile
broadband. It has also seen continuous improvement in indicators for 4G and FTTH coverage and cloud
computing. Brazil is the world’s fourth-largest market for Internet subscriptions by volume. This
means it has the potential to achieve higher scores in FTTH and 4G in years to come. User experience
in e-government and customer services has also improved, but both fixed network and mobile network
affordability declined this year.
Cloud computing is well-developed in Brazil in several industry sectors and businesses. Ongoing
cloud investment will see positive results. There will be a surge in the uptake of hybrid cloud in
Brazil, according to a new report. The current mix of on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud
services also has great potential for growth.
