2023 Tech4Good Startup Sprint in China

Tech4Good is an entrepreneurship program designed to help young adults learn about the latest trends in digitalization and explore how digital technologies can address common social issues. It aims to raise students’ awareness of challenges to local sustainable development, support them to use the ICT skills they learn to explore solutions that are both technically and commercially viable, and help them turn their dreams into reality by:
• Intensive training and monthly workshop
• T4G Global Competition
• Incentive support to encourage winning teams to achieve business success for unique ideas

  • Top 12 teams from 6 regions are automatically shortlisted as contestants for global competition.
  • Teams can consist of 1 to 8 members, with the flexibility to make changes as needed.
  • At least 50% of the team must be Seeds alumni. Newly formed teams may undergo further evaluation to confirm their eligibility.
  • The team leader must be a Seeds for the Future participant.
Completion of One-on-One Mentorship
Feb 15,
2025
By this date, the regional top teams must complete their three one-on-one mentorship sessions with the assigned mentor.
Confirmation Application Submission
Feb 17,
2025
By this date, each team must submit an online application, including:
  • Team name and member details
  • Completion of one-on-one mentorship sessions and monthly mentorship sessions
  • Additional materials such as presentation slides, demos, and team introductions
T4G Accelerator Camp in China
Apr 7-10,
2025
The Top 12 teams will attend 10 hours of offline coaching during visit in China.
Office Hour sessions with mentors will be available after coaching session.
Top 12 teams are will also experience Chinese culture and explore digital development in China.
Global Competition and Award Ceremony
Apr 11,
2025
The Top 12 teams will present their projects live in front of the judges. Following the competition, an Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner will be held to announce the awards.

Judging Rubric

Criteria A: Problem Identification
Does the team make a compelling case for the importance of the problem they are tackling, have a clear understanding of the actual problem that is backed by research, and demonstrate a deep understanding of key stakeholders affected by the problem and their needs?
Criteria B: Strength of Solution
Does the team have a solution with a unique value proposition that brings about meaningful social or environmental change if successful? Is technology effectively and appropriately applied in this solution? Has the team identified their assumptions and considered the feasibility and challenges of the project? Has the team achieved any results or made any progress since the start of the project?
Criteria C: Creativity and Innovation
Did the team challenge themselves to push creative boundaries beyond existing market solutions? Did the team tie back insights or research gathered into their solution? Is the solution innovative in terms of its application of technology?
Criteria D: Style and Clarity of Pitch
Is the message clearly conveyed and articulated? Do the pitch materials and/or visuals (including the sketch) provide clear support to the pitch? Is there evidence of teamwork in terms of putting together this idea?
Criteria E: Execution
Does the team possess or have the ability to obtain relevant skills, contacts, industry knowledge, and experience to execute this project? Progress/Preparation for Launch: Does the team show motivation and commitment through making progress or preparations for launching? Execution plan: Does the team have a clear plan and measurable milestones for their next steps?
